Help Me Go to London!

Some how the stars have aligned and I've been presented with the opportunity to travel to London with a few of my classmates and faculty at the end of March. To help pay for my trip I'm taking character commissions until I leave.
The folks over on tumblr and deviantart have already kickstarted me with a first round of commissions, so here's some more examples of what you could be getting! I'm comfortable drawing humans, animals, anthros, monsters, cyborgs, etc, as well as your own original characters, working from a prompt or theme (like the battle worn flapper below) or fan art and fan characters.

Pixar Internship

I can't believe I haven't posted this here yet, but I'm interning at Pixar!  I'll be a story intern all summer, and I could not be more thrilled to be here. 

With this and continuing to work on Zim, my blog will probably be a little quiet over the next few months. But I'll have an update right around Comic Con, so stay tuned!

Summer's End

This has been a completely insane summer. I crossed two massive things off of my bucket list, which included speaking on a panel and signing comics at San Diego Comic Con and getting a chance to work at Pixar. 
My internship at Pixar is over, but it's certainly not the end of things for me.  If you're looking for new story art, it's on the way. It'll be uploaded the second they send us our portfolios (hopefully this week). I'm excited about all of it and where this will take me.


Signing at Comic Con with Jhonen Vasquez, Aaron Alexovich and Eric Trueheart. ZIM #1-2 are both out in stores so you should definitely go pick those up. #3 will be out next month!


Not much personal art, due to working two jobs for three months, but I did manage to update my social media pages with a new ID and a new avatar. 
Also Hellaween Zines are up for sale on Etsy! It's 31 pages of my inktober sketches from last year. Scanned, lookin pretty and without the instagram filters. I've also got sets of halloween themed buttons for sale too!

Pixar Summer Story Internship 2015 Portfolio

Here it is! I've picked out my three favorite sequences from my training at Pixar's Story Internship this summer.  It was a very rewarding three months in this intense and inspiring environment. Working on pen and paper and pitching to an audience on gigantic bulletin boards was vastly different than anything I had ever done before.  I learned a lot from the professionals at the studio and my fellow interns and was overall an incredible experience. The blood, sweat and tears I put in to keep up with my internship at Pixar and continued work with Invader Zim was absolutely worth the hustle. I may go back and do a clean up pass on one or two of these, but for now, please enjoy!
A sequence based on an event in my own life, for the final assignment at Pixar. Trying to escape the stress of my school and home life, only to find the chaos had followed me to what was supposed to be a relaxing winter vacation.
Tortoise and the Hare interpreted with my own spin on the classic fable.

Star Vs the Forces of Evil Story Test

Recently I had the opportunity to test for Disney XD's Star vs the Forces of Evil, the timing wasn't right and I was not offered the job. But I got some great feedback and this was probably the most fun I've had testing for a show so far, maybe next time!

One story test! This one was for Disney Talent Development. I had two other deadlines the same week and wasn’t able to flesh out the story like I wanted to, but I like the idea enough to share it. This is the last of the work I did this summer, I got a LOT of millage in the last few months.

Stopped by Flying Colors Comics today and hoo-wee look at that Invader Zim #5 on the new releases shelf! Last issue for me and Aaron Alexovich!

Slapping a giant Irken Invader symbol on the back of my vest seemed like a nice show of appreciation for a series that not only inspired me to get into animation, but also got me my first job in professional comics. Thanks Aaron, Jhonen and Oni Press.  This issue is a good one, talk about going out on a high note.

I made another attempt at Inktober last year, unfortunately I was swamped with comics and story tests and only managed to finish about half of it. Even though I didn't make it I'm going to keep these up until I hit 31. So stay tuned for Hella-zine #2 some time around convention season! In the mean time enjoy the first 20, if you haven't already seen them on my instagram.

So Long Gravity Falls

I've been following Gravity Falls since... episode one or two I think? I was immediately hooked. The show promised humor, horror,  and top notch art direction, which it not only delivered, but consistently topped itself all the way to the end of the series. With watching the show, attending SDCC panels, talking to other fans and meeting crew members, Gravity Falls has made a lasting impression on me and I WILL MISS IT DEARLY. 

I'm a little late but I wanted to do another piece for the end of the series to go with the one I did when the show was first starting out.

This last one was part of an artist telephone game, in which one person makes a drawing, passes it to an artist, they interprate what they got into their own style, pass it to the next artist and so on until it reaches the last person.
